About Me

I'm a Southern twenty-something married to the love of my life - Andy.  We met as co-stars in the 3rd grade church Christmas play, and like so many stories go, the title of boyfriend got added to best friend somewhere along the way.  In May 2010 we were married, and now we are enjoying life as newlyweds!

Join me as I work to decorate our first home, learn to cook healthy, wholesome meals, and try to convince the hubs that I deserve a housekeeper...yeah right.

Day-to-day, I work a very interesting, unusual job; I'm in the engineering industry, but I also get to deal with people, and I love it! I am obsessed with group fitness classes & running (but I haven't done it nearly enough lately)!  Since finishing college, I've come to love the challenge of figuring out how to do something myself - whether it's sewing my own custom draperies, making my own bread from scratch, or re-purposing nearly every piece of furniture I own, I enjoy the satisfaction of DIY projects.

For fun, I love reading everything from the classics to social commentaries and chick lit.  I watch more TV than I'd like to admit, and I am embarrassingly addicted to Dexter and any of the Real Housewives series, but unlike 99.9% of twenty-something bloggers...I can't stand spending even .5 seconds on the Food Network.  Seriously.

I play tennis 2-3 times a week on a team I adore.  We call ourselves the "divas," and though our ages range from 23 to nearly 70, we have somehow become an unlikely group of friends.  We wear pink & black, exclusively, and we spend as much time planning our end-of-season soirees as we do playing matches.  Trust me....after playing outside in 30-degree weather for half the season, the least we deserve is a good party.

The hubs and I have made it a major goal to get plugged-in in our community this year, and I hope we're able to find new friends and cultivate old & new passions by getting more involved.  In the meantime, we love spending time in our city's downtown and learning more about local artists, musicians, and history.  Join us as we start a new adventure together by settling down downtown!
